Hi there,

We’re pleased to share CryoCloud version 2.13.

This release introduces an improved 3D viewer, metadata-based subset sorting, clearer dataset-import feedback, and easier navigation with custom tab titles.

🚀 New Features

Enhanced 3D Viewer on Results Page

An easily accessible iso-level slider has been added to facilitate map visualisation at different threshold levels.

Subset sorting is now available in Select job
You can now select subsets sorted by metadata values, enabling finer control over downstream processing. For example, generate a subset of 100,000 particles using only those with the highest Figure of Merit (FOM) scores from CryoCloud Picker for use in an Initial Model job.

✨ Improvements

Custom Browser Tab Names
Implemented custom tab titles for Workflows, Datasets, Projects, and Jobs pages, making it easier to identify open CryoCloud tabs and navigate between them.

Enhanced dataset-import feedback

When a dataset import fails, CryoCloud now provides clearer messages about missing or invalid parameters — saving time during troubleshooting.

Default values

Updated job-setup defaults for Refine3D, Class3D, and Class2D:

  • Changed ini_high (initial model low-pass filter) default from 60 Å to 20 Å across Refine3D and Class3D job types.

  • Updated nr_classes default from 50 to 100 for Class2D jobs.

Improved ligand restraints generation

More robust restraints generation with AceDRG.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • LocalResolution jobs are now queueable and execute reliably.
  • Fixed issues when running InteractiveSelect.
  • Improved handling of particle-picking job outputs after MotionCorr.
  • Enhanced metadata logging ensures total-particle counts and resolution values are properly stored.
  • Improved reliability of log streaming and handling of non-serialisable records.
  • Dataset resources from backend import jobs (e.g. micrographs.star) are now available for use in Select jobs.
