CryoCloud v2.33 and v2.34 – Live Analysis, Interactive Masking, and Molprobity for structure validation

We’re incredibly excited to share the release notes for CryoCloud versions 2.33 and 2.34

This release introduces Live Analysis for on-the-fly cryoEM data processing, an interactive browser-based masking tool, and expands structure validation and visualisation capabilities.

🚀 New Features

Live Analysis

Live Analysis enables on-the-fly processing of cryoEM data as it is acquired/uploaded, giving you earlier insights into data quality.

Perform motion correction, CTF estimation, particle picking, and progressive 2D classification in real time

Monitor global micrograph metrics and particle picking stats
Progressive 2D classification handles new particle batches as they become available, updating displayed 2D class averages in real-time.

Interactive masking

Creating masks is now faster and more intuitive with the new Interactive Masking tool.

Simply draw around your region of interest in two orthogonal planes
Runs entirely inside the CryoCloud application for a seamless workflow

Ligand Visual Inspector

A new Ligand Visual Inspector is now available for X-ray Refine results.

View ligands directly alongside refined structures
Simplifies validation of ligand placement within electron density
Fully integrated into the results page for faster review

MolProbity validation

MolProbity validation is now available as a dedicated job type.

Perform comprehensive structural validation within CryoCloud
Assess model quality using established validation metrics

✨ Improvements

Target management

Managing targets is now faster and more flexible.

Edit target names directly from the interface
Search through targets to quickly locate the one you need

Improved structure visualisation

Model inspection of outputs from ModelAngelo and CryoATOM is now supplemented with the input map.

Overlay the input map when viewing ModelAngelo and CryoATOM results
Makes it easier to compare generated models with the source density map

New 'Optimise mask' option for AutoMask jobs

Mask dilation will be automatically optimised to provide more accurate resolution estimates.

Requires half maps
Excludes noisy solvent regions including detergent micelles

Improved platform feedback

Additional feedback has been introduced to improve the user experience.

Users are now notified when a newer version of the dashboard is available
Healthy and complete datasets are more clearly identified during dataset management

🐛 Bug Fixes

Various stability and usability improvements across the platform
